Stunning Mariner's Compass Quilt with exquisite trapunto wreaths circling the compasses. The wreaths join to form a diamond between each block. The needlework could not be any better. The red inner sawtooth border repeats the triangles of the compasses. The quilt has been professionally laundered and is in excellent condition. There is a dark smudge on the back that does not show through. The front is spotless. The quilt measures 76 inches square; made circa 1870. The design is an interesting combination of spikey with softness that blend perfectly together.
