Outstanding, rare pattern of a Delectable Mountains crib quilt done in one of southeast Pennsylvania's favorite color combinations. Well pieced and quilted. Unwashed condition; water marks on back do not show through to the front. Berks County, Pennsylvania; circa 1870.

Crisp and unwashed Hourglass (aka Bow Tie) quilt in typically late 19th century calico prints. Wonderful small scale to the blocks; each is 3 1/2" square. Lights and darks give a crisscross effect with lots of movement. Measures 77 " square. Frederick County, Maryland origin; circa 1880.

Variable Stars Crib Quilt: Circa 1870; Pennsylvania   $975  

Early Variable Stars Crib Quilt done with a nice assembly of calico prints. The center four stars, all in the same materials, form a center medallion. Nicely quilted. The front is in very good condition. Damage to the back, visible in thumbnail photos, does not go through to the front. Measures 41" square. Pennsylvania origin; circa 1870.

Extraordinarily rare crewel embroidered Waist Pocket dating to about 1800. Wool on linen with cotton binding. Incredible condition. Unusually bright and colorful. Professionally mounted on stretcher that measures 15 1/2" wide and 18" long. Found in Pennsylvania.

Great combination of Bars and Nine Patch Quilt. Extra bonus is the Cheater's Cloth backing, making it totally reversible to a printed patchwork. Nine Patches are smaller than postage stamp size. Each piece is a miniaturized 1/2" to a side. Excellent condition; damage to only one block - visible in last of the thumbnail photos showing the Nine Patches. Terrific fabrics both front and back. Measures 76" x 78". Pennsylvania origin; circa 1880.

Stunning grouping of early 19th century fabrics used to make the triangles of this Thousand Pyramids quilt. Professionally laundered; pristine condition. Lovely soft tone tan chintz border of two different fabrics. Probably in the 19th century, this was quilt was likely made smaller. Only on the back does one see a seam next to two of the borders. This was exquisitely done and does not show at all on the front. Measures 92" square; circa 1850. Pennsylvania origin.

Fans quilt in colors that look like they've been drawn with crayons. The use of all solid colors makes for a bold image. A little primitive in construction but dynamic nonetheless. Measures 66 x 78"; Maryland origin. Circa 1930.

Fleur-de-lis applique pattern with exquisite quilting. Corner blocks and border are the same fabric; the rest of the appliques are a second material. Triangle border is a nice contrast to the curvilinear forms of the blocks. Professionally laundered. Several spots of very well done, inconspicuous darning on the brown border. Sawtooth Diamond Quilt: Circa 1920; Pennsylvania   $985  

Extremely finely made Sawtooth Diamond quilt. Soft colors keep this bold design from being overpowering. Nicely quilted with several different patterns. Slightly salmon shade of pink; high quality cottons. Excellent, unwashed condition. Measures 78" square. Pennsylvania origin; circa 1920.

The origin of this Diamond in a Square Quilt with embroidery is a mystery. Clearly, the pattern is reminiscent of Lancaster County Amish but it is not that. It is possible that it is English, but not a pattern one would see often. The use of the embroidered flowers and printed paisley (probably from a shawl) are unusual, regardless of where it was made.
