Straight Furrows Log Cabin Quilt: Circa 1870; Pennsylvania   $695.00

Floral Wreaths Quilt: Circa 1870; Pennsylvania
Floral Wreaths Quilt: Circa 1870; Pennsylvania   $2,150.00

This lovely Floral Wreaths quilt has many traditional elements yet shows its own unique personality. The repetition of the flower in the center of the wreath is an unusual variation. Berries or grapes in the border with a leaf different from the interior is also somewhat out of the ordinary as is the sashing separating the blocks. One does not usually see that in applique quilts. It is very nicely quilted with diamonds throughout. Measurements are 63" x 68" which is unusually small for this... Click for details

Chintz Broderie Perse Crib Quilt: Circa 1830   $11,000.00

Rarely does one find a broderie perse (chintz applique) crib size quilt and certainly not with the graceful and full design of this fine example. The chintz cut outs are the same fabric often used by venerated quiltmaker Achsah Goodwin Wilkins (1775-1854). The quilt is illustrated on page 176 of "America's Quilts and Coverlets" by Safford and Bishop and page 44 of Woodard and Greenstein's "Crib Quilts and... Click for details

Lone Star Quilt with Broderie Perse; Circa 1830   Inquire for Price

Glorious is the best way to describe this Lone Star quilt with chintz border and applique (broderie perse). The colors are as vibrant as the day it was made in the 1830's. It is finely stipple quilted with diagonal lines. The quilt is in excellent, unwashed condition. The chintz retains its original glaze. There were a very few nicks in the chintz border. Rather than risk any additional, I had very fine netting sewn over the border to stabilize it. It is evident to the touch but not to the... Click for details
