Betty Cooke Modernist Sterling Silver Bird Brooch
Streamlined bird brooch by the nonagenarian Modernist designer, Betty Cooke. Cooke is known for her minimal designs that successfully convey the form she aims for. This bird measures 4 inches wide and 2 inches from the bottom of the wood branch on which it sits to the top of the head. It was probably made in the 1960's. Ninety six year old Cooke is considered one of the icons of the Modernist studio jewelry movement. Her work is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art.
Tane Silver Dots Bangle Bracelet
Chic and playful rubber and sterling silver bangle bracelet by Tane. The core of the bracelet is rubber that is completely covered with sterling silver dots. The combination of silver with the black is quite striking. The interior diameter of the bracelet is 2 1/2 inches. It fits a medium wrist. Tane has been known since the early 20th century as one of Mexico's finest silversmiths. The matching necklace is available as item #1432670.
Carmen Beckmann Silver and Amethyst Bracelet
Beautifully designed and executed sterling silver hinged bangle bracelet by Mexican designer, Carmen Beckmann. The bracelet has 11 faceted amethyst stones of various sizes and shapes. The bracelet is 1 1/8 inches tall. The inside diameter is 2 3/8 inches. It fits a small/ medium wrist. The bracelet has a secure clasp and original safety chain. Condition is excellent. Made circa 1960's. The bracelet weighs a substantial 94 grams.
Pair of William Spratling Sterling Silver Master Salts
This is an elegant pair of sterling silver master salt dishes by William Spratling. The dishes are 2 inches tall and 3 1/4 inches in diameter. Hand hammer marks show within the bottom of the bowls. All else is a smooth finish. The salts have Spratling's circular imprint used from 1933 - 1939. One dish has several small indentations that may be hammer marks from the original construction rather than damage. The salts are priced at $485. for the pair. William Spratling Pair of Sterling Silver Mint Dishes
This is a most unusual pair of sterling silver mint dishes by famed silver designer, William Spratling. The tops of the dishes measure 2" x 2 3/4". They are mounted on an S shaped base. They are 13/16" in height. The two dishes have different Spratling marks. One is the conjoined script WS with the designation of 925 silver that dates from 1949 - 1956. Hector Aguilar Sterling Silver Pie Server
Elegant and most unusual pie server by Hector Aguilar. The server measures 10 1/4 inches in length and 3 1/4" at the widest. The handle is beautifully three dimensional. It is made of 940 silver, more pure than the standard for sterling. It has Aguilar's hallmark dating from 1940 - 1948. Condition is excellent. Weight is 141 grams. Hector Aguilar Crescent Necklace and Bracelet
Beautiful and very wearable Crescent design necklace and bracelet set by Hector Aguilar. The necklace is 17 3/4 inches long with links measuring one inch wide. The hook clasp is perfectly integrated into the necklace and is invisible when worn. The hallmark dates from 1948 - 1955. Both pieces are 940 silver, more pure than the standard for sterling. William Spratling Set of Ebony and Silver Goblets
Beautiful assembled set of four ebony goblets with sterling dots by silver master, William Spratling. Three dimensional silver balls circle the stem of the goblets. Three of the goblets measure 4 1/2 inches tall. The fourth one is 4 13/16" in height. The top opening is 2 inches. The hallmark dates the goblets to the time from 1956 - 1962. Hector Aguilar Sterling Silver Armadillo Bracelet
Hector Aguilar made famous the Armadillo design in which he put together in various combinations convex silver plaques, each with a raised circle. Unlike most examples, in this bracelet the silver plaques do not overlap and are placed on a suede band measuring 1 1/4 inches wide and 6 3/8 inches long. With the inclusion of the buckle, the bracelet has a wearable length of just under 7 inches. The hallmark dates the bracelet to the 1940's. The simplicity of the design makes this bracelet... Fred Davis Oversize Sterling and Amethyst Necklace
This silver and amethyst circles necklace by Fred Davis is one of his iconic designs. What makes this example stand out is the exceptional size. It is much larger than the standard. Each round disc is 1 1/2 inches in diameter making for a very dramatic and imposing necklace. It is 23 1/2 inches in length. The necklace was made in the 1940's.
