Lancaster County Amish Nine Patch Crib Quilt that is among the rarest of the rare. The Lancaster Amish made few crib quilts; hardly any have survived the hard use often seen in families frequently with a dozen children. This fine example dates to about 1910. It is made of the fine wools typically seen in early Lancaster Amish quilts; the backing is a fine cotton. Very good condition; a smudge is visible on one of the Nine Patch blocks and slight wear. Well quilted with stars in the off blocks and feathers in the outer border. Measures 37" x 38". A fabulous find for a sophisticated collector.
