Exquisitely quilted variation of a Cockscomb appliqued quilt. The more traditional version of this pattern does not have the vase in which the flowers are sitting. Finely crafted in every way; beautifully quilted with many different elements and very well appliqued. Wonderfully out of scale as is often the case with 19th century quilts of flowers in containers. Excellent, unwashed condition. Measures 88" x 91"; circa 1870. Berks County, Pennsylvania origin. Family name available to purchaser.
