This Variable Stars pattern goes also by the name of Evening Stars. It is very well made with each block measuring less than 5 1/2 inches. The colors are well placed in diagonal lines creating a Straight Furrows design. The quilt has been professionally laundered and is in excellent condition. It is very nicely quilted with an undulating feather wreath in the outer white border and flower medallions in the white off blocks. Measurements are 72" square. Pennsylvania origin; circa 1880.
