Anyone who thinks of the Amish as drab has not seen this unique quilt. It is imaginative and exuberant. Medium/ lightweight wools are heavily embroidered to create an extraordinary surface. The circles are centered with finely made compasses indicative of the maker's attention to detail while also creating a bold overall image. Half circles wonderfully contain this bold pattern. The color combinations are as unusual as are the numerous patterns. This was certainly made by an Amish woman who thought outside the box. The quilt is wool on the front and cotton flannel on the back. It measures 74" x 76" and is in very good condition.
