Charming Alphabet Quilt with an appliqued image to illustrate each letter. Immaculate, unwashed condition. Muslin ground with pencil lines still showing for the quilting patterns. Signed Lewis (last name illegible) and dated 1930. Measures 74" x 97"; Pennsylvania origin.

Two early Mexican silver brooches by William Spratling. Circa 1940. Arrow measures 3 inches across. Has slight dimple in center circle. SOLD Silver and amethyst Tulips brooch is 2 1/4" wide and 1" from top to bottom. Excellent condition; $595.

Reversible Beacon Blankets/ Log Cabin Quilt   $925  

It's difficult to imagine two more unlikely patterns used on the same quilt. One side looks like a collage of Beacon blanket fabrics; the other is a traditional Light and Dark Log Cabin done primarily in wools with a few strips of Beacon material and a bit of silk. Both sides are equally striking and in excellent condition. Virginia origin; measures 70" x 80". Circa 1930.

Margot de Taxco Silver Earrings

Two pairs of Mexican silver earrings, sold separately. Enamel pair on left are a beautiful shade of peacock blue with black. Measure 1 1/2" in length including silver ball and 7/8" wide. Identical to design by Margot de Taxco but not signed as such. Silver locks with keys are unusual and whimsical. Fully marked with Margot signature. Measure 1 1/8" in length (without chain) and almost 3/4" wide. Both pairs in excellent condition.

A wonderful array of fabrics are integrated in this classic Nine Patch pattern quilt. Some of the fabrics date as early as the 1830's; the most recent are from the 1860's. Professionally laundered and in pristine condition. Tulips quilted between the nine patch blocks;unusual quilting designs in the border. Measures 78" x 88"; Pennsylvania origin; circa 1860.

This Pots of Tulips quilt is an interesting contrast in that it is sophisticated in design while crude in execution. Sinuous stems are different in each block. Appliqued circles in each pot and atop the lavender flowers are wonderful abstract design. Partially appliqued by machine. Measures 69" x 82";Pennsylvania origin. Circa 1930.

Deep and intense are the words that best describe the blue background color of this Irish Chain quilt. Unwashed condition; all solid colors. Orange binding adds a wonderful contrast to the dark brown border. Measures 66" x 79"; North Carolina origin. Circa 1880.

Silk Honeycomb Quilt: Circa 1860; Pennsylvania

Elongated hexagons set on the diagonal form an unusual Honeycomb pattern quilt. Made primarily of Civil War dress silks with an occasional piece of velvet. Has damage to no more than 5% of the silk pieces which is virtually inevitable with these types of fabric. Beautiful distribution of fabric and colors to form an overall pattern of great depth and complexity. Measures 68" x 82"; circa 1865. Pennsylvania origin.

Kansas Troubles Quilt: Circa 1910; Pennsylvania   $735  

Very bouncy Kansas Troubles (aka Sawtooth) pattern quilt that is done in solid colors giving it added spark. Additional small triangles at each intersection create Bowtie and Pinwheel patterns. Well quilted in two alternating designs. Freshly washed and spotless. Measures 72" x 82"; Pennsylvania origin. Circa 1910.

Pulsating Starburst quilt composed of beautiful late 19th century fabrics is contained by three borders. Unwashed condition; Lancaster County, Pennsylvania origin. Equally interesting fabrics used for bars on the back making the quilt completely reversible. Circa 1880. Measures 82" x 89".
