| Irish Bear Paw Puzzle Quilt: Circa 1920; Pennsylvania $1,675 |
It's difficult to find a name for this dynamic geometric quilt because it forms so many patterns. The basic block is much like a Basket pattern. The adjoining red blocks form a Bow Tie or Hourglass. Each square divided into a red and green triangle surrounded by a peach sawtooth is another way to look at the primary pattern. In sum, it's a fabulous, original piece with a lots of movement. Charming hooked rug with a horse head surrounded by four lucky horseshoes. These two literal elements are surrounded by more abstract concentric squares, making for a very pleasing composition. | Sterling Silver Bracelet by Emma; Circa 1950 $485 |
Strongly designed, bracelet by Emma who worked in Taxco in the 1950's. Pre-Columbian birds alternate with panels of raised dots in this very heavy weight bracelet. Measures 1 1/8" wide and approximately 7 1/2" long. Safety chain makes it impossible to measure more precisely. Placement of safety chain inhibits putting the bracelet on and taking it off. One jump ring can easily be moved to give greater flexibility. Excellent condition. |
