This densely pieced quilt can be considered either a Philadelphia Pavement or Irish Chain pattern. Gradations of color add wonderful depth to this fine quilt. Nine Patch corner blocks are further evidence of the maker's attention to detail It is in pristine, un-used condition. Measurements are 77" x 80"> Pennsylvania origin; circa 1880's.

This Victorian Courthouse Steps Log Cabin is more elegant and "dressier" than most quilts. It is made of silks and satins. The logs are a wonderful small scale with a great use of light and dark. The Fans pattern border is the perfect frame for the Log Cabin design. The quilt is mounted and stretched in a plexiglass frame measuring 60" x 62". Pennsylvania origin; circa 1880's.

Birds in the Air Quilt: Circa 1880; Pennsylvania   $1,675  

This Birds in the Air quilt is delicately made with small, well pieced triangles. The use of three different size triangles contributes to the effect of birds in flight. The quilt measures 66" x 79". It is well quilted with a diamonds pattern throughout. Condition is excellent; Pennsylvania origin; circa 1880.

This classic Straight Furrows Log Cabin quilt is made with a beautiful combination of light weight wools. The solid red and variety of blues are especially effective in creating the diagonal light and dark. Some of the small centers are made of more than one piece, giving a nice quirky touch. Lone Star Quilt: Circa 1880; Pennsylvania   $1,085  

This Lone Star is beautifully offset on a fire red background. The soft colors of the star contrast well with the very strong background. The brown used only for the center star makes a great focus. The body of the quilt is stitched with a pattern of diamonds and a cable in the border. The backing is a bars pattern in red and green calico. It is reversible to this side making for an entirely different quilt. Measurements are 84" square. Pennsylvania origin; circa 1880.

This Trip Around the World quilt is as crisp as the day it was made some 125 years ago. It was clearly packed away and totally unused. The outer border is a tremendous fire engine red with white stitching for the cable quilting pattern. The blocks are small with each square measuring just1 1/2" to a side. This pieced Center Medallion quilt is an extraordinary sampler of fabrics and design. Each frame is filled with a huge selection of fabrics, most of which are printed. A variety of triangle shapes makes for variation but with consistency. The center Sixteen Patch block draws the eye to a pattern not seen elsewhere in the quilt. This charming braided cat rug would be equally happy on a floor or wall. It is made of heavy wools and should be sturdy enough to be suitable on a floor. Measurements are 34" x 47" to the top of the ears. It is in excellent condition.

Gold Earrings with Diamonds and Sapphires: Circa 1960   $1,950  

Ribbed ovals are placed to create wonderfully three dimensional earrings. Each oval has a prong set diamond or sapphire. The earrings measure 1" in each direction. They have post backs that can easily be changed to clips. Test 14 karat gold; circa 1960.

  William Spratling Silver Cuff Cholula Bracelet: Circa 1940's   $1,675

William Spratling sterling silver cuff bracelet in oxidized and polished silver, known as the Cholula design. The inside diameter is 2 1/2" at its widest with an opening of 1 5/16". Hallmark dates to the 1940's. Very good condition; size can be made smaller or larger.
