Hexagons Quilt: Circa 1890; Pennsylvania   $1,085

At first glance, this Hexagons pattern may look like Seven Sisters. With a closer look, it is evident that these blocks are filled with triangles, not the stars of Seven Sisters. Measurements are 62" x 78". It is is very good, unwashed condition. There is an area of several inches of color loss on the border. The pattern is... Click for details

It is difficult to know whether they were meant as abstract shapes or, more likely, had meaning to the maker. The initials A.S are appliqued but unfortunately, not an entire name. The quilt is from Kimberton, Pennsylvania. It is in... Click for details

Center medallion Quilt: Circa 1890; Pennsylvania   $1,685

The center is a quirky and original design surrounded by more traditional tulips. The red outer frames are done in a calico print from the late 19th century. The quilt has been professionally laundered. There is a little bit of popping to the red sawtooth border as shown in... Click for details

This finely made Carolina Lily quilt is enhanced by the solid and sawtooth frames. The wide white border is an excellent showcase for the quilted feather with stars; leaves and flowers. The off blocks within the quilt alternate star and flower patterns similar to those in the border. It is interesting that rather than all of the flowers facing each other, the bottom row faces up giving a more graceful appearance to the entire composition. The quilt measures 91" x 98", ample for a king size bed.... Click for details
