Cockscomb and Currants Quilt: Circa 1870; Pennsylvania   $875   

Exquisitely quilted version of the traditional Cockscomb and Currants pattern. Wreaths, flowers and feathers are stitched throughout this lovely applique quilt. The colors have mellowed with age giving a soft tone to this strong pattern. The fabrics are strong and intact. Measurements are 69 inches square. Pennsylvania origin; circa 1870's.

Could these two black cats be any cuter? On the left is a beanbag with printed facial features and paws. Eyes are buttons with a red ribbon neck bow. It is 7 inches in height; excellent condition. SOLD On the right is a homemade cat with an embroidered face and collar. The two paws are different. I believe the right is meant to be a streamlined version of a wrap around tail. It is 8 inches tall; excellent condition. Price is $140.

Nine Patch Crib Quilt: Pennsylvania; Circa 1880   $635  

This Nine Patch crib quilt is as crisp as the day it was made some 135 years ago. It is in pristine, unwashed condition. The fabrics are a nice combination of calico prints with an especially unusual material for the border. The two lighter blocks may have been made to indicate that side for the head. One of the squares in the lower right corner is especially dear as it is made of two different fabrics - not quite enough to go around. The backing is a Bars pattern with the same brown print as... Whimsical would be the best way to describe this unusual fruit quilt. I believe they are meant to be apples but one can also make a case for cherries. Regardless of which you prefer, it is in excellent condition; made circa 1870. It is quilted with concentric diamonds and has a border on three sides that alternates the colors of the fruit. Measurements are 80 inches square.

Hexagons Charm Quilt: Circa 1870's; Pennsylvania   $1,975  

This Hexagons quilt is unusual for several reasons. It is a charm quilt which means that no fabric is repeated. Many are similar but on close examination it is evident that they are not the same print. The overall design of the pattern is also well out of the ordinary. A number of the fabrics have figures and animals. The quilt is in excellent condition. Measurements are 82" x 88", large for the 1870's when it was made. Pennsylvania origin.

High Button Shoes Store Display; Circa 1890

Handmade high button shoes that were used for store display; circa 1890. The boots measure 17 1/2 inches tall and 17 1/2 inches from toe to heel. They are made of leather in delicate condition. They have a label inside that is difficult to read but is definitely from Los Angeles. It is difficult to understand the wear on the soles that looks as though they've been walked in. It is unimaginable that someone was large enough to wear them. The mystery adds to their charm.

Modernist Silver Face Cufflinks   $195  

Highly stylized Modernist sterling silver cufflinks depicting three dimensional faces. The cufflinks measure 5/16" x 9/16". They are in excellent condition. Marked 925 for sterling silver; made in Mexico.

Volcanic Lava Box with Silver and Crystal Finial

This box made of volcanic lava is topped with a sterling silver and crystal ball finial. The four silver circles are movable to create either a flat or three dimensional form. The interior of the box is lined with red leather. The box measures 3 1/8 inches square. It is 3 3/4 inches tall with the finial an additional 1 7/8 inches in height. This one of a kind sculpture is both beautiful and utilitarian. Made by Mexican silversmith Lila Parilla.

Nine Patch Crib Quilt: Circa 1880; Pennsylvania   $725  

This charming crib quilt is made with Nine Patch blocks that abut one another creating a Bars pattern. Between the rows of Nine Patches are four rows of fabric; three of which are different aspects of the same print. The quilt is in very good condition. The fabrics are all strong and intact. There is some very slight discoloration on the pink calico border. Measurements are 40" x 45 1/2". Oley, Pennsylvania (Berks County) origin; circa 1880.

William Spratling Sterling Silver Shot Glasses

Two sterling silver shot glasses by silver master, William Spratling. The cup on the left has the streamlined hand motif that he used on some of his jewelry designs. It weighs 43 grams and is 1 3/4" tall. The cup on the left is adorned with a band around the bottom. it weighs 56 grams and is 1 13/16" in height. Both are in excellent condition and have his 1940's hallmark. They are priced at $295. each.
