Fleur de Lis Quilt: Circa 1910; Pennsylvania   $725   

This Fleur de lis pattern is exquisitely quilted. The ivory blocks have an unusual, four lobe oval design. The quilt is made entirely of a blue printed fabric from the very early 20th century. The quilt is in unwashed condition. Some prefer it that way but a wash would make the fine stitching even more prominent. Measurements are 70" x 84". Pennsylvania origin; circa 1910.

Hawaiian Applique Quilt: Circa 1930's   $5,850  

Hawaiian quilt are sought by collectors for their beauty and rarity. They are traditionally made of a single applique pattern that fills the entire top. The method by which it is created is the same as paper cutting or scherenschnitte, popular with Pennsylvania Germans. The motif usually reflects local flowers and/or vegetation. This double sided quilt has two patterns that are completely different. One side has a creative version of an American flag with 44 stars. For the most part, they are placed in even rows but one is squeezed on an edge and another placed by itself on one of the red stripes. It's a mystery as to why it was placed outside the canton. The American flag had 44 stars for five years beginning July 4, 1891. The forty fourth star was included for the admission of Wyoming into the Union on July 4, 1890.... Click for details

LeMoyne Stars are surrounded by more open stars in this wonderful tribute to red, white and blue. The patriotic themed quilt beautifully combines red LeMoyne Stars and border with deep indigo open stars. Within the open stars are others combining the two colors for the perfect integration. This Grandmother's Flower Garden is an especially fine example of one of the most popular quilt patterns of the 1930's. It is made with small pieces that are perfectly color coordinated. The quilt is in pristine, unwashed condition. It measures 76" x 88", large enough for a queen size bed which is unusual for a quilt of this era. It was made by the same person as the Double Wedding ring item #1378425. Ohio origin; circa 1930's.

Sterling silver brooch by Matilde Poulat who worked under the name Matl. In it, she utilized her three favorite stones of amethyst; turquoise and coral. Several of the turquoise stones have cracks but are intact. Measurements are 1 3/4 inches in height and width. Made circa 1950's.

Freeform scribble brooch of sterling silver made by famed American designer, Angela Cummings. The brooch is dated 1987. It measures 2 inches wide and 1 3/4 inches tall. The silver squiggles are intertwined with space between them giving dimensionality to the brooch.

Baskets of Flowers Quilt: Circa 1900   $1,575  

This Baskets of Flowers quilt could not be more bold and straightforward. It is well pieced; appliqued and quilted. Using the same colors for the details of the Baskets as well as the flowers pulls it all together. At first glance, it appears that the red and green flowers on the left of each basket are done with reverse applique. Handsome band ring in sterling silver and rosewood. It is finely and heavily made. The band is 1/8" thick and half an inch tall. It is size 6.
