This is, no doubt, the ultimate embroidered quilt. It shows virtually every species of the animal kingdom. Largest depictions of the animals begin in the center and decrease toward the borders. Among the more unusual animals shown are a moose; hippopotamus; beaver and rhinoceros. Quilted in diamond patterns.
Excellent condition. Pennsylvania origin; circa 1910. Measures 74" x 92"

This unique Rooster quilt is truly something to crow about. It is made entirely of 1 inch squares. The background is cotton; the rooster's body is primarily velvet with some wool. In addition to being quilted, the rooster's body is also tied which I believe is meant to give the effect of feathers. The forty five star flag dates the quilt to the time period between 1896 and 1908. The light squares toward the bottom look like letters and possibly a number but I am not clearly able to decipher them... Click for details

Crisp and fresh looking Ocean Waves Quilt in the ideal shade of blue. Tightly quilted; excellent condition. Measures 68" x 72". Pennsylvania origin; circa 1920. Blue is a much softer tone than appears on my monitor. It is not royal blue but closer to cornflower.
