Patriotic Flag Quilt: Made 1911   $8700.

This handmade 48 star flag quilt has the name of each state and its date of admission to the Union embroidered on each star. It is accurate with the exceptions of Arizona and New Mexico. Hawaiian Applique Quilt: Circa 1930
Hawaiian Applique Quilt: Circa 1930   $2950.

This traditional Hawaiian applique quilt is done with colors more typical of Pennsylvania than Hawaii. I don't think I've seen another Hawaiian quilt with this rich teal background. It is stitched with echo quilting, typical of Hawaiian quilts, that follows the pattern of the applique. Hawaiian quilts are always striking with their strong central pattern but the colors of this example make it particularly so. Measurements are 74" square; very good condition.

Mariner's Wheel Quilt: Circa 1920; Pa.   $1850.

This original quilt pattern brings several things to mind. The circles can be seen as ship's wheels with the curved appliqued borders as gentle ocean waves. Another, less romantic, possibility is machine gears. The viewer might see additional possibilities. Regardless of the interpretation, it is an imaginative pattern in a beautiful shade of blue and well quilted. It has been professionally laundered and is in excellent condition. Measures 84" x 88". Pennsylvania origin; circa 1920.
