This original applique quilt is closest to the pattern known as True Lover's Knot. It is exquisitely embellished with trapunto quilting. A variety of flower and leaf designs are done in three dimensional quilting throughout the white grid. Pods in the border are cleverly done in reverse applique with the body of the pod having a shadowy effect against the dark seeds. Each seed has delicate buttonhole stitching around it.
