Pinwheels Crib Quilt: Circa 1880; Pennsylvania   $725

This Pinwheels crib quilt is set up in such a way that it creates an additional pattern of Streak of Lightning with the sashing. It is made with a very Pennsylvania combination of calico fabrics. The sawtooth border is a nice follow through of the triangle theme of the interior of the quilt. There are several very light spots of some color loss on the peach fabric that are visible with close examination but they are very minor. Hexagons Quilt: Circa 1890; Pennsylvania
Hexagons Quilt: Circa 1890; Pennsylvania   $1,085

At first glance, this Hexagons pattern may look like Seven Sisters. With a closer look, it is evident that these blocks are filled with triangles, not the stars of Seven Sisters. Folky Sampler Quilt: Dated 1893; Pennsylvania
Folky Sampler Quilt: Dated 1893; Pennsylvania   $4,200

This charming Sampler Quilt is appliqued with many of the elements the maker likely saw on her farm. In addition to a horse; cow; rooster; cat; vegetables; flowers and birds it has the most unusual feature of a hand saw! There are also some unidentified appliques. It is difficult to know whether they were meant as abstract shapes or, more likely, had meaning to the maker. The initials A.S are appliqued but unfortunately, not an entire name. The quilt is from Kimberton, Pennsylvania. It is in... Click for details
