Fleur de Lis Quilt: Circa 1910; Pennsylvania   $725

This Fleur de lis pattern is exquisitely quilted. The ivory blocks have an unusual, four lobe oval design. The quilt is made entirely of a blue printed fabric from the very early 20th century. The quilt is in unwashed condition. Some prefer it that way but a wash would make the fine stitching even more prominent. Measurements are 70" x 84". Pennsylvania origin; circa 1910.

Hawaiian Applique Quilt: Circa 1930's
Hawaiian Applique Quilt: Circa 1930's   $5,850

Hawaiian quilt are sought by collectors for their beauty and rarity. They are traditionally made of a single applique pattern that fills the entire top. The method by which it is created is the same as paper cutting or scherenschnitte, popular with Pennsylvania Germans. The motif usually reflects local flowers and/or vegetation. They are stitched with echo or contour quilting that follows the applique pattern. This fine example is done in a stunning shade of blue. It has been professionally... Click for details

Grandmother's Flower Garden Quilt: Circa 1930; Ohio   $725

This Grandmother's Flower Garden is an especially fine example of one of the most popular quilt patterns of the 1930's. It is made with small pieces that are perfectly color coordinated. The quilt is in pristine, unwashed condition. It measures 76" x 88", large enough for a queen size bed which is unusual for a quilt of this era. It was made by the same person as the Double Wedding ring item #1378425. Ohio origin; circa 1930's.

Baskets of Flowers Quilt: Circa 1900
Baskets of Flowers Quilt: Circa 1900   $1,575

This Baskets of Flowers quilt could not be more bold and straightforward. It is well pieced; appliqued and quilted. Using the same colors for the details of the Baskets as well as the flowers pulls it all together. At first glance, it appears that the red and green flowers on the left of each basket are done with reverse applique. Closer examination, though, shows that the green was actually stitched on top of the red. The piece is very well quilted with a wreath in each off block and cable... Click for details

Boots Quilt: Circa 1930   $2,850

To the best of my knowledge, this Boots pattern quilt is a one of a kind. Because of the two colors, I am not certain whether they are meant to be boots or high button shoes, but in either case, it is a real rarity. There are 156 boots which gives it all a wonderful abstract quality as well. It is stitched with something of an echo pattern around the boots. The quilt has been professionally laundered and is in excellent condition. Measurements are 60" x 74". The quilt came with a vague... Click for details

Pair of New York Beauty Quilts: Circa 1920; Pennsylvania
Pair of New York Beauty Quilts: Circa 1920; Pennsylvania   $2450.00

New York Beauty is a difficult pattern to execute which may be why I have never before seen them done as a pair. This pair is especially well pieced and quilted. The off blocks are quilted with finely stitched bouquets of flowers. At the intersections, the maker made the unusual choice of miniature Dresden Plates. The colors are very soft and pleasing. Included with the quilts is a matching pair of square throw pillows. One quilt measures 63" x 96" and the other is 63" x 100". They are from... Click for details

Alphabeth Quilt: Circa 1920; Pennsylvania   $2,985

Alphabet quilts are a rare breed. When attempted, the maker often has difficulty getting the 26 letters to be placed symmetrically but the creator of this quilt found a good solution. She created star like blocks for the top and bottom corners making it all come out even. There is a quirky element, though, in that only the letter J has a period after it. What could that represent? This quilt is in pristine condition. It has been professionally laundered. It is from Pennsylvania; circa 1920's.... Click for details

Ruby McKim
Ruby McKim "Honeymoon Cottage" quilt: Circa 1935:Pennsylvania   $875

This charming House quilt is a pattern designed by Ruby Short McKim in 1935. She sold fabric as well as instructions for blocks to make either a quilt or a pillow or stool top. This example has a combination of solid and gingham fabrics, most likely sold by McKim, that make a soft yet lively composition. It is in unwashed condition. There is one spot about the size of a dime near the bottom binding but no other condition apologies. It is quilted with cable patterning throughout the sashing and... Click for details

Pots of Tulips Quilt: Circa 1900: Pennsylvania   $825

This Pot of Tulips quilt has an unusual quality that makes for something of an abstract pattern. The combination of color; the shapes between the pots as well as the placement of the floral designs make one step back for a moment to realize that the primary pattern is actually the Pots of Tulips. The quilt measures 78 inches square. It is freshly laundered and in pristine condition. Made circa 1900; Pennsylvania origin.

New York Beauty Quilt: Circa 1920; Pennsylvania
New York Beauty Quilt: Circa 1920; Pennsylvania   $2,450

This precisely made New York Beauty quilt is a fine example of a desirable and difficult to execute pattern. It is well pieced and quilted. The off blocks are stitched with large wreaths. LeMoyne stars are a good choice for the centers of each block. It has been professionally laundered and is in pristine condition. The quilt measures a generous 90" x 96". Pennsylvania origin; circa 1920's.
