Lancaster County Amish Embroidered Quilt: Ca. 1920   $1,450   

Embroidered pinwheels of this type are usually seen decorating pillows; rarely are they an entire quilt pattern. This Lancaster County Amish example is very well planned out with diagonal rows of color. Background is men's wool suiting fabrics. Quilted in green thread with zigzag patterning throughout the border. Measures 75" x 78". Lancaster County, Pennsylvania origin; circa 1920.

Rich colored fine wools were used to make this exceptional version of the Crossroads pattern. Highly unusual cotton printed fabric on the back would make this an equally interesting whole cloth quilt to be used on the reverse.Excellent condition on both sides. Measures 81" square.

Streak of Lightning with One Patch Quilt; Oklahoma   $695  

This is a dynamic country quilt with a native American feel. The solid red and blue chambray of the streak of lightning jump out from the plaids and checks. In excellent condition. Back is dark blue and white gingham check. Measures 67" x 83". Oklahoma origin; circa 1910.

This is a pristine Ocean Waves quilt with a pieced bars back, typical of eastern Pennsylvania. Background color is an unusual slate blue/ gray highlighted with quilting in white thread. The quilting patterns alternate between bars and flowers. Nice variety of turn of the century fabrics. Measures 74" x 76".

Chinese Coins is a pattern not often seen, even more rarely when done on a diagonal as is this example. The blocks are fairly large but create a stunning effect whether used either vertically or horizontally. This would make a spectacular hanging in a stairwell or over a sofa because of the 54" x 76" size. All wool fabrics; Circa 1910. Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Mennonite.

Pristine, unwashed Fence Rail pattern made in Maryland; circa 1920. Interesting quilting pattern of circles in the border. Reminiscent of nautical flags. Measures 82 " square.

This quilt is as crisp and pristine as the day it was made. It was clearly packed away and never used. Beautiful background color blue. The squares and diamonds in the negative space around the stars form secondary patterns.Cable quilting in the border. Pennsylvania origin; measures 68 inches x 84 inches.

Sunbonnet Sue was one of the most popular patterns of the early twentieth century. This particular arrangement with a large Sue overseeing the others is most unusual. Has been professionally washed. Pennsylvania origin; measures 74 inches square.

Beautifully executed version of a Basket pattern. Pristine, unwashed condition. An unusual choice of color make this quilt a real stand-out. The back is pieced in bars pattern as seen in the last detail photo, making this quilt equally usable on both sides. Excellent quilting. Measures 78 inches square; Pennsylvania origin.

Very striking version of a Baskets quilt of Lancaster County Mennonite origin. All quilting done in dark thread with the exception of the handles which are machine quilted in white. Border fabric is a slightly darker red of cotton sateen. Blue is actually a dark navy. Measures 78" x 82".
