Reversible Quilt- One Patch and Wild Geese; Circa 1880   $635   

This unusual quilt is intended to be completely reversible. One side is a One Patch and the reverse is Wild Geese(aka Birds in the Air). While the quilt was made in the late 19th century, the Wild Geese incorporates some fabrics from the mid century. It is especially interesting to find elegant glazed chintz in three of the blocks of this otherwise country quilt. Classic Evening Stars quilt done in solid red and white with tiny black print. Nice cable pattern quilting in the red grid; geometric pattern in the stars. Excellent condition. Measures 71" x 81"; circa 1890. The red is a beautiful mellow color. It is not toward orange as appears on my monitor.

Unusual set up of Variable Stars quilt pattern arranged in strips alternating with plain Bars. Wonderful fabrics which date from the 1840's - 1860's. Pristine, unwashed condition. Interesting quilting pattern of thistles set at right angles to the long Bars. Measures 73" x 80". Lebanon County, Pennsylvania origin; circa 1860. A real gem for lovers of early fabrics.

Exquisitely miniaturized Evening Stars Quilt in which each star block measures just 2 1/4" to a side. Beautifully planned to create diagonal lines of color. Each of the borders is quilted with a different pattern, beginning with hearts in the chocolate brown. Mint, unwashed condition. Measures 84" square. Oley, Pennsylvania origin; circa 1870.

While not technically a Jacob's Ladder pattern, this unusual quilt is closest to the pattern by that name. Elegantly quilted with wreaths in each of the off blocks. Nice variety of late 19th century indigo prints. Sawtooth border makes the perfect frame. Body of the quilt is in perfect condition; very slight fraying on the binding. Measures 70" x 72"; Pennsylvania origin. Circa 1880.

Carolina Lily Quilt; Circa 1880   $1,095  

Variation of a Carolina Lily quilt that is also close to the pattern known as Potted Star Flower. Beautiful shades of chocolate brown and teal blue/green. Professionally laundered; excellent condition. Small blue spots on thumbnail photos are not stains; they are clumps of blue thread within the batting. Nicely quilted with clamshell patterns and diagonal lines. Inexplicably, part of one block is also quilted with overlapping circles. Both the colors and the fact that some colors are quilted... Elegant Tree Everlasting quilt pattern done with glazed chintz. Well quilted with oak leaves in the white bars and cable patterns on the chintz. The chintz is the same fabric throughout but is distributed so that one can see pillars, lattice baskets and flowers in different areas. Excellent condition; circa 1850. Measures 91" x 98"; Pennsylvania origin.
