Extraordinary Grenfell hooked mat that is exceptional in several ways. The pattern is unusual; rarely did they use geometric motifs. The octagonal shape of the rug is also a rarity. The colors are rich and stunning. Condition is like brand new. Original label is present and totally intact. Measures 12 1/4" square. Looks dramatic placed on square or on point. Outstanding Hooked Rug that probably appeals to me largely because it combines two patterns usually seen in quilts. The miniature versions of Trip Around the World are irresistible. The right angle blocks look like partial Log Cabins. Excellent, untouched condition. Terrific combination of deep colors; background is a beautiful blue-gray. Measures 29" x 74".
